Kansas City Comets

KANSAS CITY (Mar. 7, 2017) – Kansas City Comets’ Stephen Paterson was named the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Goalkeeper of the Month by the MASL this morning. This is the first monthly award for Paterson, who previously won two Player of the Week awards. This is the second month in a row the Comets have been represented, as Head Coach Goran Karadzov was the MASL’s Coach of the Month in January.

Stephen Paterson has had a stellar season for the Kansas City Comets and helped to lead the MASL’s third ranked defense. In February, Paterson went 4-1 in the month as his Comets secured their third straight regular season Central Division title. Paterson did his job in the net and contributed to the Comets cause with two assists and his second goal of the season during the month.

Paterson and the Comets host Game One of the Central Division Championships this Thursday March 9th against the Milwaukee Wave. This is the Comets seventh straight season in the playoffs. It is also the seventh straight year the team has played the Wave in the postseason, with Kansas City winning the past four series matchups.

Kickoff on Thursday is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. CT and tickets are available at KCComets.com, Ticketmaster.com or by calling 855.4KC.GOAL.

The Kansas City Comets have a long rich history of indoor soccer in KC, including the 2014 MISL Championship. The reigning Back-to-Back MASL Central Division champions play at the Silverstein Eve Centers Arena. For tickets and information call 855.452.GOAL (4625)
