Missouri will look to win its tenth away game of the year

SYRACUSE, New York (Feb. 20, 2016) – The Missouri Comets (15-3) return to action less than two days after having won the 2015/16 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Central Division title as they visit the Syracuse Silver Knights (9-7) at the Oncenter Arena tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. CT.

The non-divisional contest will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast. In addition, in-game updates can be followed via Twitter @CometsMASL.

Both teams will be playing for the first time in MASL history. However, the Silver Knights lead the All-time Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) series 5-4.

Coach Vlatko Andonovski’s team will be putting their 22-game regular season winning streak away from home on the line, while Syracuse looks to secure a runner-up spot in the Eastern Division.

Team captain Vahid Assadpour leads the Comets with 46 points off of 20 goals and 26 assists as well as earning Man of the Match honors on Friday night after scoring the overtime game-winner against Baltimore. On the other hand, midfielder Kenardo Forbes leads the Silver Knights with eight goals and 15 assists.

Syracuse is coming from a solid 10-3 home win against the Harrisburg Heat where Jerjer Gibson notched three goals, and Gibson recorded a tally and two assists.

The last time Missouri visited Syracuse; the Comets weren’t able to leave with a positive result as they fell 11-8 (MPS) on January 10, 2014.

Next up, the Comets will return home to the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for the regular season finale a week from today as they host the Baltimore Blast.
