Missouri is obligated to win games two and three on the road tomorrow

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri (March 28, 2016) – Following a heartbreaking loss six seconds into overtime last week, the Missouri Comets head to Baltimore as they visit the Blast with only one thing in mind, two wins. Games two and three (if needed) of the Eastern Conference Championship will be played at Royal Farms Arena tomorrow night.

Game two, which is scheduled to kick off at 6:05 p.m. CT, will be streamed live on GoLive Sports Cast. In case of a Missouri win, the mini-game will be played immediately after Game Two. In-game updates can also be followed on Twitter at @CometsMASL.

The winner of the series will advance to the Ron Newman Cup Final and will battle for the MASL Championship against Western Conference Champion Soles de Sonora with dates and times still to be determined.

During the regular season, the Comets swept Baltimore 3-0 with two home wins and a road victory. However, Coach Danny Kelly’s team leads the All-time regular season series 12-6. In addition, this will be the second consecutive time that both teams meet in the Eastern Conference Championship series, which the Blast won 2-0 last year.

Despite the loss on Game One, the Comets are no strangers to the current scenario. Two years ago, both teams met in the 2014 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Championship. Just like this year, Missouri dropped Game One before winning Games Two and Three on the road to win the title.

Forward Max Touloute (Missouri) and 2016 MASL Defender of the Year Pat Healey (Baltimore) lead their teams in the playoffs with seven points each, while goalkeepers William Vanzela (Baltimore) and Boris Pardo (Missouri) stand first and second with a 3.31 and 3.66 GAA respectively.

Fans are encouraged to join Comets Nation for the Official Watch Party at Coach’s Bar and Grill (103rd St. and Wornall Rd).
