Kansas City Comets

KANSAS CITY (November 30, 2017) – The Kansas City Comets play two games this weekend after being idle since November 12. The team will travel north for their first road trip of the season against the Milwaukee Wave on Friday at 7:05 p.m. CT before returning home to host the Cedar Rapids Rampage on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. CT.

The Comets (1-1) have seen a lot of changes this season, but head coach Kim Roentved is pleased with his team’s progress and excited about their prospects heading into the weekend.

“We played pretty good in those first two games without a lot of time in practice, now we’ve had a couple more weeks to train and the boys are putting it together.”

Adding to Roentved’s confidence is the likely return of two key veterans to the lineup. Kiel Williams, who missed the first two games due to injury, and Milan Ivanovic. Ivanovic’s signing was just announced by the team earlier today.

The Milwaukee Wave are one of three teams still undefeated in the MASL, including a close win against the Comets earlier in the month. They are led offensively by Ian Bennett and Max Ferdinand, who have combined for 12 goals and 9 assists so far this season.

The Cedar Rapids Rampage started off the season with three straight losses on the road, but two home games have resulted in two straight wins and helped to boost the confidence of the young roster. Over the offseason, the team added high-scoring threat Taylor Bond to their already powerful offensive lineup.

The Comets game in Milwaukee is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. CT start and can be seen live on MASL.tv or KCComets.com/live-feed. Comets Nation, a Comets supporters group is also hosting a watch party at Coach’s Bar & Grill in Overland Park.

Sunday’s match against the Rampage is scheduled for a 5:05 p.m. CT kickoff at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Tickets for the match can be found here.
