East coast matchups in Baltimore and Florida could help
Kansas City gain ground in the Central Division

KANSAS CITY (January 18, 2018) – The Kansas City Comets head east for a pair of games against the defending Champion Baltimore Blast on Friday and the Florida Tropics on Saturday. Both games are scheduled to kick off at 6:35 p.m. CT.

GAME NOTES – Comets vs Blast 1/19/18

GAME NOTES – Comets vs Tropics 1/20/18

Riding a two-game winning streak, the Comets confidence is high. The team has scored 21 goals in the past two games. Prior to that, Kansas City averaged only six goals per game. The emergence of forwards Kiel Williams (5 goals in last two games) and Anthony Grant (4 goals, 1 assist in last two games) has given the Comets offense new life and allowed veteran Leo Gibson to help control the Comets attack.

The Baltimore Blast are leading their division at 10-2, but their new home at SECU Arena on the Towson University Campus has forced some slight changes to their overall game play. The shorter field has been an adjustment to Baltimore’s always stingy defense. Defenders Pat Healey and Adriano Dos Santos have led the way however and the Blast still boast the #2 defense in the league, only giving up 51 goals this season (4.25 per game).

The Florida Tropics are currently second in the Eastern Division. The second-year franchise is 3-4 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida. They are led offensively by Ricardo De Queiroz Diegues and his 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists). Goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa is sixth in the league with a .677 goals against average.

The Comets take on the Baltimore Blast on Friday, January 19 and the Florida Tropics on Saturday, January 20. Both games can be seen live at MASL.tv and KCComets.com/live-feed.

The Comets return home to the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on January 28, 2018 at 5:05 p.m. CT to host the Cedar Rapids Rampage. The team will be celebrating Star Wars Night and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free Comets Star Wars T-shirt, courtesy of Cryo Clinic Midwest. Tickets for that match are available here.
