Kansas City Comets

KANSAS CITY (Nov. 18, 2016) – The Kansas City Comets hit the road for the first time this season to face the Milwaukee Wave. This is already the second match-up between these two teams this season, with the Comets getting the 11-4 victory at home a couple weeks ago.

Comets vs Milwaukee Wave Game Notes

After opening their season against Kansas City, the Wave traveled to the east coast for a two-game weekend. They upset the defending champion Baltimore Blast on Friday night, and then narrowly lost an overtime thriller in Harrisburg on Saturday.

The Wave will be looking forward to facing the Comets again, this time with Max Ferdinand ready to play. After missing Milwaukee’s first game against Kansas City, the veteran midfielder now leads his team in points with three goals and three assists.

The Comets enter this game with the confidence that comes from a two game winning streak in which they outscored their opponents 19-7. Leading the charge is Leo Gibson. Kansas City’s star forward had an uncharacteristically quiet opener against Cedar Rapids, but has bounced back with four goals and six assists in the two games since then.

Kansas City also features the MASL’s reigning Player of the Week, Stephen Paterson. The Comets goalkeeper scored the opening goal of last week’s game against the St. Louis Ambush and only allowed three goals in the win.

Kick off in Milwaukee on Saturday, November 19th is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the league’s newest channel, MASLtv. In Kansas City, fans are encouraged to join the watch party at Coach’s Bar & Grill on 103rd & Wornall.
