Baltimore Blast comes to Kansas City Saturday before Comets travel to
Milwaukee on New Years Eve

KANSAS CITY (December 29, 2017) – The Kansas City Comets host the Baltimore Blast for the first time this season. These two haven’t faced each other since December 11th of last year, when the Comets beat the Blast 5-1 at home. Saturday’s match will kickoff at 7:05 p.m. CT.

In that game, Stefan Stokic led the way with two goals while Leo Gibson, Odaine Sinclair and Guerrero Pino each chipped in with a goal of their own. With the exception of Stokic, that offensive lineup should be ready to play in tonight’s game.

Much has changed for the Blast since that meeting. Captain Pat Healey returned from retirement to lead Baltimore to their second straight MASL Championship. In the offseason the team moved their home venue to a smaller field at Towson University. The team has remained undefeated at home, but their strength in defense has been tested.

For the first time in many years, the Blast are under .500 when playing away from home. The team has suffered two losses against only one win when they hit the road.

The Comets hope to add to Baltimore’s road woes this weekend. With the return to health of several players, the team hopes to build upon their five-goal fourth quarter last week against Milwaukee.

The Kansas City Comets will then travel to Milwaukee on Sunday for their fourth and final regular season matchup against the Wave this season. Milwaukee has had the better of the series so far this season, winning all three to date.

The Comets are hoping to end the 2017 calendar year on a high note by taking home a win on the road. The Comets are 3-0 all-time on New Year’s Eve, including two wins in Milwaukee (2010, 2013).

Kansas City has renewed hope after scoring five goals in the final period last week against the Wave and adding three players who just received approval on their Visas (Troy McKerrell, Tim Kloster and Mirko Sandivari). All three will be available for selection this weekend.

Saturday at home, the Comets are also hosting their Celebrity Night. Local celebrities and media personalities will be in attendance and play an exhibition match at halftime. Tickets for Saturday’s game are available here. Sunday’s match in Milwaukee is set to begin at 5:05 p.m. CT. Fans can watch on the MASL’s streaming home, MASLtv
