Defender Odaine Sinclair headlines latest group of signings

KANSAS CITY (November 3, 2017) – The Kansas City Comets kick off the 2017-2018 season tomorrow night against the St. Louis Ambush. Today the team announced three more players signed to complete their Opening Day Roster; defender Odaine Sinclair, midfielder Tanner Hunjak and defender Alvaro Beltran. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Sinclair returns to the Comets for his second season with the club. He played for the St. Louis Ambush for three seasons prior to that. Originally breaking into the league as a forward, Sinclair has been converted to defense where he brings an awareness and toughness needed for Kansas City’s backline. Playing a mixture of forward and defense last season, Sinclair had 6 goals and 3 assists for the Comets.

Tanner Hunjak makes his return to the club. He was a member of the Comets original roster in 2010 where he played 17 games with the club. Hunjak, the son of Comets legend ‘Scorin’ Goran Hunjak, played collegiately at Mid America Nazarene for three seasons. He scored 28 goals in 49 games for the Pioneers. In 2015 he was named to the NAIA Div. I National Championship First XI team.

Alvaro ‘Alvi’ Beltran is another MidAmerica Nazarene product. Playing defense for the Pioneers, Beltran scored a goal and had three assists in 23 games his senior season.

The Kansas City Comets open their eighth season at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena this Saturday as they face off against their cross-state rivals, the St. Louis Ambush. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT and tickets can be purchased here.
