Veteran defender among four players announced to roster today

KANSAS CITY (November 1, 2017) – The Kansas City Comets continued to solidify their roster with the announcement of four players, including the return of defender Kevin Ten Eyck. Joining Ten Eyck are rookies Troy McKerrell, Tim Kloster and Mirko Sandivari. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Ten Eyck is a veteran of indoor soccer, earning MISL Rookie of the Year honors playing for Wichita in 2012-2013. He was a leader in Wichita through the team’s final season in 2014-2015. He joined the Comets in 2015-2016, playing in all 20 games for the team. He led the Comets and was 7th in the MASL in blocks that season.

The other three players announced to the Comets roster are all rookies with a lot of potential. McKerrell comes to Kansas City from the Isle of Bute, Scotland. He played collegiately for Benedictine University and is also an assistant coach for the NWSL’s FC Kansas City.

Tim Kloster and Mirko Sandivari are the latest players to come to the Comets via Park University. Kloster made 48 appearances for the Pirates, starting all of them. Along the way he scored 13 goals and 19 assists. Seen as a playmaker for Park, Sandivari played in 45 games for his school, starting all of them.

The Kansas City Comets open their eighth season at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena this Saturday as they face off against their cross-state rivals, the St. Louis Ambush. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT and tickets can be purchased here.
